Rush Seating

I use English Rush to restore and refurbish traditional rush seated chairs. It is not often possible to repair a rush seat , in all likelihood it will need to be replaced and rewoven from scratch. Customers need to be able to bring their chair to my studio in Ditchling or home in Brighton and Hove. I work to commission with prices depending on the size of the chair seat to be restored and the thickness of the rush coils. As a guide a dining chair will cost around £95 – 120 per seat , a large carver style chair £150 -160. A new seat should last between 50 and 75 years if looked after.
